Legal Aid provides legal representation and advocacy for adults in various social security matters:
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) appeals. If you have applied for SSDI or SSI and your application has been denied and no private attorney will take your case, you may qualify for assistance with your appeal. We do not provide assistance with initial applications and we do not provide representation for children seeking disability benefits.
- Continuing Disability Review appeals for adults. If your disability benefits have been terminated, you may qualify for assistance with your appeal.
- Overpayments. If you have received an overpayment notice or need help with a wavier or reconsideration of an overpayment, we may be able to help.
- Other issues. Call Legal Aid to find out if we can help you with your social security issue.
If you have a social security problem, please contact Legal Aid or come to our intake to discuss your situation.
