Legal Aid Society saves an elderly woman’s home.
An elderly woman owned a modest home on Milwaukee’s South Side. One day a stranger knocked on her door and told her she needed new siding and a new roof. He told her she could use the equity she had patiently built up over many years to finance the repairs. The high-interest loan payments consumed 70% of the woman’s monthly income.

Legal Aid Society Provides Foreclosure Mediation Assistance
If you are participating in the Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation
Program and would like an attorney to represent you at your
mediation conference, please call Legal Aid's Foreclosure Intake and
Referral Hotline at 414-727-5373.
The Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation Program is a voluntary program
which allows the parties in a foreclosure action to meet with a
mediator and provides an opportunity for the homeowner to negotiate a
work out (such as home retention or an alternative to foreclosure) with
the lender/servicer. The Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee has set
up a special program to represent homeowners in mediation.
